Lucy Abril Reyes Winistörfer

Urban und Contemporary Urban and Contemporary Dancer, Teacher and Choreographer

Lucy Abril

My roots are in urban and contemporary dance.

I debuted on stage in 2014 as Brigitta for Susanne Zürrer's version of "The Sound of Music" at Bernhard Theater Zürich, which was the catalyst for my passion for stage performance and dance.

My path led me to the Kunst und Sportschule Zürich which allowed me to pursue my passion for dance and helped me to successfully complete the urban and contemporary stage performance education program (ZTTS GAB) of Tanzwerk 101.

During that time period, I had the pleasure and honour to participate in projects and collaborate with choreographers such as Lucia Baumgartner (inFlux Dance Company), Philipp Egli and Gregory Arcement.

As a choreographer, I have had the opportunity to create and realize over 7 original and independent productions and intergenerational projects. which premiered at Theater Rigiblick, Kulturmarkt Zürich, and GZ Riesbach.

After I graduated from ZTTS GAB in 2018, I chose to pursue my academical interests and therefore went and got my high school diploma (Matura), the DALF (Diplôme approfondi de langue française) and my C2 Proficiency. During my senior year, I got the opportunity to dive into the lead role Carmen for the musical "Fame" directed by Angela Hunkeler.

At the same time, I taught various dance styles at a multitude of dance studios in and around Zurich (i.a. Zurich Ballett and Contemporary Academy and Dance School Galactic Dance) and collaborated with Dr.Thomas Hauser's streaming platform ArtonAir

Finally, in 2020, I decided to start teaching my own dance classes and Lucy Abril Dance Studio was founded.

Ever since, I've had the pleasure to connect and combine my passions for teaching, working with children and dancing, by teaching Jazz Funk Kids Dance Classes and Heels Dance Workshops at Lucy Abril Dance Studio.
